iPlayer plugin for XBMC
Fresh video:
This is a short video demonstrating a plugin for popular media centre software XBMC. The iplayer plugin lets users view all material that is available on the bbc's iplayer website, but through xbmc. So you can sit back, and use that remote to catch up on the latest shows. :) The plugin grabs the portable-centric videos (ie, those of portable resolution, ~low-res). But the quality is easily watchable. Without the ease of use of the iplayer website, it has still been made as easy as possible with thoughtful design and implementation. Plot/program description details are still available as they would be on the site and are accessible by pressing the INFO button on the remote. There are thumbnail images to give you a preview of the video. The only slight downside is the initial start-out; the user must download the info for all shows in the particular category, for example top 10 most poplar shows. Rather than only download the info for the show they are interested in. This can result in a brief moment while the plugin downloads the info, counting 1of10... 2of10... etc. but at least the plugin is considerate and lets the users know what's happening. Overall, fantastic plugin! Go download!
